Emergency Lighting Installation & Repair

Emergency Lighting Installation and Repair

In the event of an emergency, you need to ensure the safety of your staff. If the power fails so will standard lighting, but emergency lighting, from a secondary power supply, can guide your staff and employees safely out of the premises and away from danger.

Ryan industrial and commercial electrical contractors can install and maintain an automated emergency lighting system that will provide illumination in the event of a power cut to enable all occupants to evacuate the premises safely.

Most new buildings now have emergency lighting installed during their construction (which we can also help with) with the design and type of equipment being specified in accordance with current Building Regulations and any local authority requirements.

However, we can retro-fit emergency lighting systems into older buildings to BS 5266-1: 2011 which covers a range of buildings and properties used by the general public such as hotels, clubs, hospitals, nursing homes, schools, colleges, licensed premises, offices, museums, shops, multi-storey dwellings (flats and apartments) to name a few.

We can provide install and maintenance of the three main types of emergency lighting which include:

Emergency Escape Lighting

An emergency lighting system (or part of) that provides sufficient illumination for the safety of people leaving a location. It is part of the fire safety provision of a building and a requirement of The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

Standby lighting

An emergency lighting system (or part of) that enables normal activities to continue substantially unchanged. This is not a legal requirement and is a facility that may or may not be needed, depending on the use and occupancy of the premises.

Escape Route Lighting

An emergency lighting system (or part of) to ensure that the means of escape can be effectively identified and safely used by occupants of the building.
